In September, I was honored to be asked to speak by Sarah and Andrea from Cherry Berry Events at Camp Wedding at the Camp Wandewega, located in Wisconsin. This was their inaugural wedding retreat and I was looking forward to meeting some new friends in the wedding industry. Steve Jobs passed away yesterday at 54. He was a visionary, the ultimate creative artist, the man who has forever changed how we expereince computers, phones and music. His quote, "Your work is going to fill a large part of your life, and the only way to be truly satisfied is to do what you believe is great work. And the only way to do great work is to love what you do." As an entrepreneur, this quote means to much to me. Steve, you will be missed and we will carry on and I am sure apple has just scratched the surface of what you have started.
For Chicago weddings, we like to recommend some great activites that the brides and grooms can do with their guests or even recommend to their guests for when they are visiting Chicago. One of my favorite things to do in Chicago is the Architectural River Cruise. This cruise takes you on Chicago's First Lady and you see over 50 buildings in Chicago. The guides are well versed in the history of Chicago architecture and will provide you with many wonderful details about how this great city was built. The cruise would be a great pre-wedding activity where anyone could attend the day before the wedding or maybe even great for a post-wedding event the day after the wedding. There is a full service bar on the boat and small snacks. You can toast your guests as you see Chicago from the river and learn more about the great city you are wedding married in.
One of my favorite parts of the wedding day is the time that the bride spends getting ready at her home or in the hotel suite with her bridesmaids, Mom and friends. It is a fun time to bond and relax before the busy wedding day starts. Often times we will have hair and makeup artists come on-site to also make sure everyone looks gorgeous on the wedding day.
Today I am excited to announce a new Blog Series called "Ask Ali". As a wedding consultant in Chicago I answer a lot of questions for my clients or potential clients about weddings in general. I also answer a lot of inquires on email for people interested in the wedding business or those wanting to become a wedding planner.
