In September, I was honored to be asked to speak by Sarah and Andrea from Cherry Berry Events at Camp Wedding at the Camp Wandewega, located in Wisconsin. This was their inaugural wedding retreat and I was looking forward to meeting some new friends in the wedding industry. I attend a couple of event conferences a year and I was intrigued by the concept of Camp Wedding, with wedding professionals being in a camp environment.

Chicago wedding photographer and a good friend of mine, Kevin Weinstein,jetted down to Mexico this past weekend to photograph Courtney Mazza and Mario Lopez of Extra TV and The X Factor's wedding. Armed with lots of cameras and two assistants, he photographed the Friday and Saturday night celebration in Punta Mita, Mexico. Kevin was one of the first photographers in Chicago that I met with when I started my business over ten years ago and we have been working together since. He is one of the most kind, funny and creative photographers that I know. Kevin, we can't wait to see the pictures of the wedding! Wish Upon a Wedding Grant's 50th Wedding Wish in Chicago

Wish Upon a Wedding granted the 50th wedding wish in Chicago last night. This was a big milestone for the newer nonprofit that provides wedding and vow renewals for couples facing terminal illness and serious life-altering circumstances, regardless of sexual orientation. I am the founding president of the Chicago Chapter for this organization and also sit on the national board as vice-president and it is near and dear to my heart. Ashley and Brian said their vows in front of fifty of their family members and close friends at the Chicago Marriott O'Hare. This was the second wish a Marriott property has hosted and we thank them for their continued support of the organization.

The old folklore says that it is a belief is that a wet knot is harder to untie (thus the term "ting the knot"). If showers are forecasted on your wedding day, don't let it get you down. I was SO excited when Blair and Christy called me from Junebug Weddings to tell me I had been selected to be a part of their World's Best Wedding Planners & Designers they unveiled last week and I am so thankful to be included. The best of the best are on this list and I am flattered to be a part of it. 

Photo Serve-Calling All Photographers

My friends, Stevi and Matt Savage started a wonderful new nonprofit called Photo Serve. It is a wonderful organziation bringing together photographers who willingly will volunteer for those in need. They will be traveling to Casas Por Cristos in Acuna, Mexico in September with guest mentor, Mike Colon, and will be building a home for a family in great need. I am so proud of my friends for getting together and starting an organization that shows how we can give back. And what a great way for photographers to document people helping people but also to be able to network and learn from each other.
